Producing a good, solid racehorse begins with careful breeding choices.  Our mares are selected for a proven pedigree that compliment our Stallions.  This includes pedigrees that will lead to foals with sex balanced duplications of The Champions in their bloodlines, as well as proven nicks for the making of prepotent foals. We have a high emphasis on quality of type, coupled with sensibility. This creates foals that have the physique and mindset to succeed in any discipline.   Colour is simply the 'icing on the cake'.

Well what an outstanding mare and a pedigree match with Profile In Style.  We have had pedigree analysis determine this particular mating and it has the recipe to throw up something BIG.

This will be Coldstream Candy's first thoroughbred offspring as she has been breeding elite level Warmblood's at the renowned Coldstream Park.   However her family come from a long list of proven thoroughbreds and this is a match made in heaven.

Coldstream Candy also has rabicano ticking throughout her flanks, barrel and rump which could see genes gel with Profile in the colour department.   However whatever colour this foal turns out it will be one for the serious competitor.

You can read about this super mating here.  (Click your back arrow to return)

This VERY RARE splashed white mare was bred for the racetrack. Her predominant splashed white colour is the first in her lines and came as a complete surprise to her breeders.  She has two bright blue eyes.

Her sire Langfuhr (CAN)  17:9-2-0 is a triple Group 1 winner . Sire of Absolutelyfabulous $883,625, Black Tom $619,005 and Lord Langfuhr (USA) USD$420,663.  The sire of 10 stakes winners in Australia, he is also the broodmare sire of Triple Crown Winner, Luen Yat Forever.  Langfuhr shares the same sire as the immortal Danehill in Danzig.

Mata Biru (meaning blue eyes in Indonesian) has a 3S x 4D duplication of Northern Dancer which is seen in so many of the elite race horses including So You Think and sire sensation Redoute's Choice  (who had a $330,000.00 service fee).

This mare is a great example of quality with colour being the added bonus.

With superstar show ring looks and a race pedigree to satisfy the top end of the market, this mare is one of our best.   She is the ONLY true black, named and raced female by Rock Of Gibraltar (IRE) - his 2003 service fee being $132,000.     And she is a racewinner.

Sire:  2002 World Horse of the Year, ROCK OF GIBRALTAR (Ire) - 7 x G1 winner and $3.5Milliion$$, who stands at Coolmore Stud. Rock of Gibraltar was 2007 Australian Leading First Crop Sire and to-date he has produced 50 stakes winners and six Group One winners.

Dam:  I Leica (owned by Gerry Harvey)  racwinner and hailing from the great 'Leica' family.  Half sister to Moon Dragon (by Danehill) $332,800.    By Melbourne Cup winning Jeune.

Miss Morocco has a spectacular pedigree match with Profile In Style (USA).  It is evident the Halo sire line + Danehill / Danzig daughters have a great affinity and is a dominant cross.  This cross has produced many Group 1 winners  including  G1 Golden Slipper winner, Sebring; G1 Victorian Oaks winner,  Sunday Joy & G1 Victorian Derby winner,  Benicio to name just a few.

An exciting race career that is sure to roll over to a National level show career awaits this future foal.

Red Trid is a lovely mare with an impeccable nature.  She unfortunately broke a sesamoid bone in her barrier trial when she ran a very close second to Blahnik (by Jeune) who has gone on to win 7 races – 4 stakes races and Group 3 Adelaide Guineas and over $400,000 in prizemoney.

Sired by Keltrice - Group 1 winner and producer of Group winners (incl.  Group 1) such as Storm Signal (NZ) $475,000. As a broodmare sire Keltrice has made an early impression from just a few runners. He is already the broodmare sire of seven stakes winners and five Stakes placed horses.

Dam Bassie's Pride 12 wins and $229,375 – a lot of money when she raced 20 years ago!  Ran Second by half a nose in the G2 Sandown Cup and second G3 Tattersalls.  Trained by George Hanlon and ridden by top jockeys such as Glen Boss, Shane Dye and Chris Munce.  A top mare in her day running fifth in a Group 1 that Zabeel (NZ) ran second in.  Sired by Salieri who is also the maternal sire of multiple group winning Magic Albert.

With Red Trid’s huge amount of ability coupled with her sweet nature we are pleased for this mare to join us at WINNING COLOURS FARM for two seasons.   She is VERY nicely put together and her foals should have much success at both race and show.

What a surprise this foal must have been to her breeders!

This near maximum expressed sabino (or possibly dominant white) thoroughbred mare has a quality race pedigree.  Her sire Sky Chase is a winner of three Group 1 races, three Group 2 races and two Group 3 races.   He is also the sire of Saintly who won four Group 1 races including the Melbourne Cup and $3.8Million

Her siblings have won in the discipline of dressage and seeing her most impressive light and buoyant movement this comes as no surprise.

She is a refined thoroughbred mare with lovely long legs and a tremendous length of rein.  Race, show or performance shall all be on her foals career possibilities.  Grown up picture coming soon.

This mare just loves people.  She will leave the whole mare herd to stand where she's closest to the house.  Check out the picture below where she's protecting our daughter Lily from the other horses. This mare would be a favourite even as a solid bay.  She is a one in a million and not just for her colouring.  What a joy she is.

As the only registered reproducing progeny of the brindle sire Catch A Bird (NZ) this mare is the Matriarch of the registered roan thoroughbreds in existence in the World today.

There is only three living registered mares with the roan gene that is known - Slip Catch and her two daughter.  WINNING COLOURS FARM has been lucky enough to have secured all three mares.

With her maternal sire Bletchingly himself, and with a daughter being a roan multiple racewinner,  this line and her are not just pretty coats.

We look forward to keeping the rarest colour gene in thoroughbreds alive with Slip Catch and her daughters.

With an order in from Europe for a blue roan weanling this will be the first roan thoroughbred in the Northern Hemisphere.

See her daughter Lillac Hill below

"Lillac Hill"

Roan ASB Thoroughbred 2005

The only race winning (multiple) roan thoroughbred mare ever in existence.

Lillac Hill is the "cream of the crop" when it comes to the only three roan registered TB's alive in the world.  She is a daughter of Slip Catch (see above) and does not have an inbreeding 2 x 2 duplication as Lavender Fields does (the third and only other registered roan thoroughbred which we sold back in April).

As one of the only few roan thoroughbreds in existence she is a valuable asset and we look forward to keeping this rare and super colour alive.

Note that this is her winter coat which only grows the brown hairs.  She is a much lighter roan in the summer months. She is in foal to Profile In Style (USA).

Colour or not on the resulting foal - it will be a stunning individual.  We breed so that the foal will be outstanding as a solid colour and if the broken colour does occur well that's even better!

What can't we say about this mare!  Standing at just under 17hh this daughter of  Zabeel (NZ) was a  multiple racewinner.  And what a type she throws.   Her half brother was exported to Hong Kong - NOW WITH WINNINGS CLOSE TO $$HALF A MILLION DOLLARS $$ She has a beautiful easy and gentle nature which makes her even more valuable in our eyes.

Dam:  Ultra Vain (AUS) multiple Group placed and 5 wins $46,350 (1980's).  Also the dam of Idol Judge $486,637

Sire: Zabeel (NZ) 19:7-1-4 $1.1Million Sire of Octagonal 28:14-7-1 $5.8Million and Might & Power $5.2Million.

With Profile In Style's pedigree match and athleticism we cannot wait to see this future foal hit the track.  And with Zabeel's service fee $110,000 this foal is sure to be a solid investment.

Zabeel is also the sire of Opera House - the all white filly purchased by John Singleton and footballer Andrew Johns.  If this foal has a loud overo coat pattern it may be of real interest for some high profile buyers!

This 15.3hh well performed mare is a race winner as well as a successful showjumper. She is the complete package with her quality, brilliant mind and a pedigree bred for success.

Her dam producing 100% winners to runners, and with the greats Vain and Bletchingly on her sire's side it is no wonder she can perform.  Her full brother is a multiple race winner and was in the money 16 times out of 25 starts!

She is a Rabicano as well as sabino with a lot of roaning throughout.  As she passes on her strong sabino genes to her foals, we are not only excited about the high standard of foal she will produce, but the unique coat patterns that we are sure to get!   We have leased this tremendous mare for one season only.   Her foal will be eligible Australian Stud Book registry and will be a serious racing prospect as well as performance.  The foal will also be eligible American Paint Horse Association (APHA) AND Paint Horse Association of Australia (PHAA).

Pictured is one of Heleray's super fancy foals which is so beautifully correct. WOW!

When you buy the wrong mare you might as well buy a well bred one!  This is the now tank of a mare that I bought my mistake at Inglis (I thought I was buying lot 9 and I was actually bidding on and bought lot 8! I had given birth to my baby boy Denham several weeks beforehand so I'm using that as my excuse).

She's a Black Type Stakes placed mare by Danehill that won the race prior to her last when she broke down.  With plenty of black type in her pedigree her foals have sold for $100,000.00.

She's had plenty of breeding issues and has missed to her last three stallions.  We sent her direct to Angus McKinnon of Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital to have her cultured, biopsied and a cytology done.  We extensively flushed her and used immunostimulants beforehand.  She cultured clean though has a degree of acute and chronic changes to her endometrium.   With specific and specialised pre and post breeding care (plasma, estrogen, immunomodulators, ecbolics etc etc) we may be able to get this mare in foal and more importantly keep her in foal.  Here's hoping.  Watch this space!
