"Hagia Sophia"

2010 ASB, APHA, PHAA Dominant White Thoroughbred Colt

This suberb colt is everything we hoped for plus more.  His sire Painting Freedom (USA) is a 17hh True Black and white stallion by Airdrie Apache (USA), himself a Mr Prospector grandson.  Airdrie is the sire of multiple race winning and double registered Thoroughbred/Paints. Bloodlines also include "Northern Dancer",  "Bold Ruler" and "Roberto" (Hail To Reason).  

Painting Freedom is out of Playfull Devil (Kentucky bred) 17hh black and a seven times race winner. She is by Play Fellow who won five Group 1 races and won / placed in another 5 group races. Her other two siblings are 100% winners to runners - Nine times race winning gelding All Devil $154,578USD and 7 times racewinner Desby Do who has gone on to produce Aeitroon winner of $104,016 in Saudi Arabia.

His Dam Pretzel (USA) is a stunning and precocious mare whom has an inbreeding to Prince John (USA) - son of the mighty Princequillo (IRE).  She is out of racewinner All Is Well (USA).  All is Well is sired by Thunder Puddles. His progeny have earned almost $8.8-million, and offspring of his daughters have bankrolled another $4.85-million to date - excellent for a regional sire.  His largest crop numbered thirty five and as most were considerably smaller than this, the numbers become even more impressive.  More can be read on Thunder Puddles here.   More pictures of Patrick on our News page.

Pictured  left is the Hagia Sophia. It is a masterpiece on a monumental scale. Translated it actually means 'Wisdom Of God' 

'Patrick' reminded me of the Hagia Sophia for two reasons (1) his summer coat is muted from orange to a soft apricot colour due to his dominant white gene (2) his intricate white detail and exotic looks.

We had wanted to call Patrick "PLATO'S RETREAT" which was an infamous swingers club in New York.  (His dam's sire was the first NY millionaire to sire a NY millionare.  And how to you Paint Freedom (his sire) in NY? Plato's Retreat!!!   (Let's face it - his coat pattern is as wild as a swingers club on a Saturday night!)

Racing NSW does not have a sense of humour it seems so we went in the opposite direction and he is now HAGIA SOPHIA (!)

2010 Chestnut ASB Filly

This filly was bred for the track, however when this filly arrived we could not believe our eyes.  She is as pretty and exotic as Profile's NSW All Breeds Show Champion Thoroughbred Foal, So In Style. 

Zabrilliant will mature 16.2 - 16.3hh and her career possibilities are limitless.  Race, dressage, performance or show will all be on her can-do list.    Once again Profile has thrown a very leggy filly with a terrific & fine length of rein and a face that you can't take your eyes off.   And with plenty of chrome she will stand out in any crowd.

This filly has a quality race pedigree - her maternal sire none other than Zabeel (NZ).  Zabeel's grandsire Sir Ivor is by Sir Gaylord, who is a half brother to Secretariat.  A sex balanced duplication of this great family coming through with this filly. 

This is my favourite filly I have every bred. If you see her in the flesh you'll understand why.   She is "zabrillliant" example of our quality breeding program!

"Styled In Black"(name pending)

2010 ASB Black Thoroughbred Colt

The first foal of the season yet again is a cracker.  A true black sabino colt.  With a head that is so pretty he could pass as a filly!    Profile keeps throwing his superb type which includes that beautiful head, long legs, short back and fabulous hindquarter.   

This foal has a 5 x 5 inbreeding to Hail To Reason, the sire of Halo.  Halo is the sire of super sire, More Than Ready and Kentucky Derby winner, Sunday Silence.  He also has sex balanced duplications of Secretariat and the renowned Mahmoud son, The Axe in his pedigree; which should see him competent on the racetrack.   The elite level show arena will be this colts destiny once his racing days are over.
